A woman was injured Sunday morning in a crash along the turnpike in Carbon County. The incident occurred at 7 a.m. as she was traveling south at the 81.2 mile marker six miles north of the Mahoning Valley interchange. Her sport utility vehicle hit the center barrier, bursting into flames. Franklin Township firefighters were able to extinguish the flames after shutting down the roadway. Pocono state police are investigating the incident.
