State police at Fern Ridge

Police are investigating a criminal mischief incident that was reported at 12:42 a.m. Feb. 15.

It happened along Forest Drive in Chestnuthill Township where a 50-year-old woman from Saylorsburg reported damage was done to the carpet in her vehicle. The estimated damage is $80.

• Police were called to Saber South, 2164 Route 209, Chestnuthill Township, to investigate a firearms sale/transfer incident, but police said no criminal offense took place.

Police said a suspect attempted to purchase an Empower 12-gauge shotgun and completed the firearms transaction record. A store employee ran a Pennsylvania Instant Check System background check that showed the suspect was to be denied the purchase.

Police said after reviewing the transaction record, the suspect checked “yes” on a question, resulting in police determining the suspect did not falsify the form.
