Michael J. Montalvo Melendez, 23, and Kyrah N. Brown, 20, both of Weatherly, were injured in a one-vehicle crash at 12:43 p.m. Feb. 22 on Route 93 in Packer Township.

State police at the Hazleton barracks said they suffered minor injuries and were transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association.

Police said Montalvo Melendez was operating a 2000 Toyota Celica northbound and was passing another vehicle when he observed a southbound vehicle. In attempting to get back into his lane, he lost control of the vehicle, which crossed over the southbound lane and hit a ditch. The vehicle rolled and came to rest off the west side of the highway.

The car sustained disabling damages and was towed from the scene.

Police said the driver was cited for the crash.
