State police at the Frackville barracks said they were summoned to a Dog Law incident that happened at 2:55 p.m. Feb. 26 on East Pine Street in West Mahanoy Township after a pit bull went after a smaller dog that was being walked by its owner.

A 60-year-old Frackville woman said she was walking her dog when the incident happened. She said a short time later an unidentified man appeared, stating he was the dog’s owner. He woman said he had another pit bull with him.

Police said they were unable to locate the owner in the wooded area.
