The Wells Fargo bank branch in McAdoo will close in the spring.

“Wells Fargo made the difficult decision to close our McAdoo branch on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 12 p.m.,” according to a statement from Wells Fargo, which is headquartered in San Francisco.

The bank apologized “for any inconvenience” that the closing of the 7 N. Kennedy Dr. branch might cause.

The statement said that customers can continue to bank at the Tamaqua Wells Fargo branch, which is about 7 miles from McAdoo.

Wells Fargo also has banks in Frackville and Pottsville.

“Branches continue to play an important role in the way we serve our customers, and we continuously evaluate our branch network in light of changing customer needs, the increase in the use of digital banking, market factors, and economic trends,” according to the statement.
