Students at the Pleasant Valley elementary and middle schools held their own version of the THON dance marathon held annually at Penn State University, holding a mini-THON Friday.

Students and staff at both schools danced all day, played games and participated in various events staged throughout their buildings in an effort to raise money and awareness of pediatric cancers.

In gatherings later in the day at the schools it was announced the middle school event raised $13,518.88 while the elementary school students and staff raised $16,647.78.
