State police at Lehighton - crashes

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported on the following crashes:

• Two vehicles crashed at 7:14 a.m. Feb. 9 on Interchange Road in Towamensing Township.

Police said one vehicle stopped at the stop sign on Trachsville Hill Road and continued through the intersection to travel south on Church Road, striking a the second vehicle that was northbound on Interchange Road. That vehicle traveled about 400 feet before coming to rest in the grassy area adjacent to Interchange Road while the first vehicle went about 200 feet and came to rest on the shoulder of the road.

Police did not provide any other information in its incident report, except to say they were assisted by two towing businesses and the Palmerton EMS personnel.

• Scott D. Hawk, 52, of Palmerton, was cited by state police at the Lehighton barracks for “vehicle turning left) after a mishap at 10:40 a.m. Feb. 18 in front of the Palmerton Garage Doors business on Forest Inn Road in Lower Towamensing Township.

Police said he was driving a 2021 Subaru Outback while leaving the business parking lot and attempted to turn left when he failed to observe oncoming traffic and the car struck a 2011 Ford Fusion driven by Brandalyn A. Smith, 31, of Slatington.

Police said Smith suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel.

• Crystalee A. Dettrey, 29, of Easton, was injured when a car she was driving rolled over several times in a crash at 5:03 p.m. Feb. 15 on Long Mountain Road in Polk Township.

Police said she was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg, by the West End Ambulance. The extent of her injuries is unknown, police said.

They said she was driving a 2009 Honda Civic when she lost control going around a curve. It crossed over the southbound lane before the multiple rollovers.

She was cited for the crash.
