Monroe business cited for liquor violation

A Monroe County business has been cited the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state police liquor control board for violating the state liquor code.

1836 Saloon Inc., Marshalls Creek, was cited on Nov. 3, 2022, for furnishing alcoholic beverages to a minor, age 20; on Dec. 4, 2022, for refusing an authorized employee of the enforcement bureau access to records covering the operation of the licensed business during business hours, on Oct. 4, 2022, sold alcoholic beverages when license was expired and/or was held in safekeeping or their temporary operating authority expired.

There charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offense. In addition, the judge an also imposed a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
