Panther Vly. will start before Labor Day

Students in the Panther Valley School District will return to classes early next school year, according to the 2022-2023 school calendar approved by the school board Wednesday.

Superintendent David McAndrew Jr. said students will start before Labor Day and finish May 31, barring any additional snow make up days.

“The good news is that we will be graduating in May next year,” he told the board.

McAndrew also noted another change involving days off around Presidents Day. Students will not be off on the Friday before the Feb. 19 holiday next year, unlike this year and prior years, McAndrew said.

“We’re going to be in school, which allows us to finish in May. We’re going to have that as a calendar day,” he said, noting that he wanted parents to be aware of the change now and plan accordingly.
