Palmerton duo named to CL First Team
Palmerton’s Matt Machalik and Brandon Hosier were both named to the Colonial League Boys Basketball Coaches Association All-Star First Team.
Machalik was a unanimous selection to the team. The junior is averaging 17.04 points per game and is closing in on 1,000 career points.
Hosier, also a junior, is averaging 16.17 points per contest and has helped the Blue Bombers post an 18-5 record and berths in the Colonial League and District 11 playoffs.
Northwestern’s Cayden Fitch was elected to the league’s Second Team. He is the Tigers’ second-leading scorer at 11.59 points per game and has connected on 41 three-pointers. His contributions have aided Northwestern in qualifying for the district playoffs with an 11-11 record.
Palmerton defensive standout Kendall Robinson was also recognized, being named as an Honorable Mention selection. Robinson is averaging 5.04 ppg.
Wilson standout Shamel Gibson earned the league’s MVP honors.
