Jennifer Steward is being recognized as LVHN Colleague of the Month for January.
Jennifer Steward
Town: Jim Thorpe
Work location: LVH-Carbon
Job title: Cat scan Technologist
Department: Radiology
How long you have been at job: I have worked for the network for 16 years, mainly at LVH CC before relocating to Carbon upon opening.
Why you like your job: The main reason I love my job is the interaction that I have with patients. Being able to help people in our community, especially with a hospital so close to home, is a very rewarding experience.
Challenges/proud moments of your job: It always makes you feel proud when you are able to help someone in the smallest way. We have a lot of patients that arrive for their scans very nervous, and it makes me proud to take a minute to listen to their concerns, and ease their minds about the test that they are having.
Background, Education: I have a Bachelor’s degree in medical imaging from Bloomsburg University and I did my clinical rotation at Abington Memorial Hospital.
Family: I am married for 10 years to my husband Greg. We have four kids: Cody, Kylie, Lydia and Levi. We enjoy camping together as a family, and most of my free time is spent watching my kids in sporting events and dance competitions (which I love). I also enjoy reading in my free time.
Why you like working for LVHN: Honestly, I love the friendships that I have made over the years. No matter what department I have worked in, I have lasting relationships with colleagues that have turned into great friends. It’s really nice to come into work everyday knowing work in a department where there is such strong teamwork, and everyone is always willing to help each other.
