List of local fire companies receiving state funding

State Rep. Doyle Heffley, R-Carbon, and state Sen. David Argall, R-Schuylkill/Carbon, announced that grants totaling more than $328,000 will be awarded to 24 fire company and EMS departments in the 122nd District. The grants are made possible through the state Fire Company and Emergency Medical Service Grant Program:

“Our local fire and EMS companies are dedicated to keeping all of us in Carbon County safe,” Heffley said. “These funds will help our first responders continue to do the important work of helping all of us in our time of need.”

“I’m thankful so many local fire and EMS companies were awarded these highly competitive funds,” Argall said. “These grants are well-deserved and will help our brave first responders with their critically important and dangerous jobs.”

Carbon groups receiving grants include:

• Albrightsville Volunteer Fire Company, $12,598.14.

• American Fire Company No. 1, $13,335.03.

• Aquashicola Volunteer Fire Company, $12,598.14.

• Beaver Meadows Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, $13,089.40.

• Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company, $13,335.03.

• Citizens Fire Company No. 1 of Weatherly, $12,598.14.

• Diligent Fire Company No. 3, $11,861.25.

• East Penn Township Volunteer Fire Company, $12,598.14.

• Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, $14,808.81.

• Hauto Volunteer Fire Company, $12,598.14.

• Lake Harmony Rescue and Ambulance Squad, $10,000.

• Lake Harmony Volunteer Fire Company Inc., $15,000.

• Lehigh & Lausanne Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company, $12,598.14.

• Lehighton Ambulance Association Inc., $10,000.

• Lehighton Fire Department, $15,000.

• Mahoning Valley Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 Inc., $15,000.
