Jim Thorpe will celebrate 30 years of holding its annual Winterfest in the historic business district over Presidents Day weekend, with a variety of activities and events.
The sixth annual Jim Thorpe Film Festival presents an encore screening of local filmmakers at 3 p.m. Feb. 19 at Winterfest’s Winter Wonderland at 41 W. Broadway, Jim Thorpe. The event is free. Enjoy the best shorts from the last five years of film festivals, grab a hot cocoa and popcorn and stick around to meet and hear from the film makers.
The Snowball, a morning yoga and dance celebration hosted by Fairy Moon Yoga and sponsored by Lehigh Valley Hospital-Carbon will from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 18. The Snowball is a dedication to the origin of the town’s winter festival and to the owner of the Mauch Chunk Ballroom, John Drury, where the event is being held. The Snowball kicks off two days of winter activities at the Ballroom at 41 W. Broadway which will include vendors with freebies and games, baked goods from Wilde & Free Bakery and selfie stations from noon to 5 p.m.

The Jim Thorpe Film festival’s encore screening of local short films is free.
