A clock park in downtown Palmerton may get for some improvements.
Borough Manager Donna McGarry suggested to borough council on Thursday that it look to make some upgrades to the little park in the 400 block of Delaware Avenue.
“I was hoping the Pocono Mountain Visitors Bureau was going to offer their grant program again,” McGarry said. “In 2022 we used grant money from them to improve a basketball court and the entrance to Palmerton.”
McGarry said that if the borough were to receive the grant, it could use it toward landscaping and lighting.
“I budgeted funds from our Recreation Fund toward beautification of the clock park, since the PMVB grants are a 50-50 cost share,” she said.
McGarry said the park was developed about 20 years ago when the late Ralph and Daniel Cipko donated the clock that fronts the park.
Palmerton hopes to receive a grant from the Pocono Mountain Visitors Bureau that would go toward landscaping and lighting at the clock park along the 400 block of Delaware Avenue in Palmerton. TERRY AHNER/TIMES NEWS
