Nesquehoning dealing with broken utility pole

Nesquehoning is hoping to get a utility pole fixed that was broken and is near Panther Valley Elementary School.

Councilman Louis Paul said that PPL was contacted regarding the utility pole that was broken on the hill going into New Columbus. The pole is located close to the school and students walk that hill to get to school.

Paul asked what needs to be done to get this fixed because a few calls have been made and nothing has been done to resolve it yet.

The pole also contains other utilities such as Blue Ridge.

John McArdle, borough emergency management coordinator, said if PPL doesn’t respond soon, the borough could file a complaint with the Public Utilities Commission.
