Professional cabaret artist Corinna Sowers Adler is looking for 12-15 high school males and females to join her in her show, “Something Beautiful,” to be performed at the Walk In Art Center on April 15.

Auditions will be held at 5 p.m. on Feb. 1 and 2 for students ages 13-18. Those chosen will perform with Corinna in the show and will receive two 3-hour master classes as part of the process.

This opportunity for students wishing to improve their voice and performance is not to be missed and there is no charge to participate.

Corinna Sowers Adler is a Schuylkill Haven native and has been returning to the area often over the last several years. She has been nominated for the special Excellence in Theatre Education Tony Award every year since its inception in 2015 and made her solo New York Cabaret Debut in 2010 at the Laurie Beechman Theater in “Stories … A Cabaret.”

Since then, Corinna has been in high demand, performing solo shows in NYC at the Triad, the legendary Duplex Cabaret, Feinstein’s at Loews Regency, Metropolitan Room, Feinstein’s/54 BELOW, The Green Room 42, and the majestic Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center where she debuted the concert series “Music Over Manhattan.”

She has also performed her concert entitled “Corinna Sowers Adler in: Something Beautiful” around the US and in The Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center to rave reviews.

She is the Founding Artist Director of NiCori Studios & Productions where she creates, teaches and directs students of all ages, specializing in middle and high school aged students. She has a special love in her heart for helping the next generation of performers to reach their goals.

Ms. Sowers Adler visited the Walk In Art Center in 2022 and was impressed with the growth and impact the organization has had since it began.

“Had the Walk In Art Center been in existence when I was a child, I would have been first in line to be part of it,” says Corinna. “I am thrilled that it now exists for other arts loving kids like me from Schuylkill Haven.”

Those wishing to participate should prepare one verse and chorus of a song and bring either a background track or sheet music to the Walk In Art Center on Feb. 1 and 2.

The Walk In’s Executive Director, Jacquie Engel, will schedule a few rehearsals with the selected students to learn the numbers to be performed and used during the master classes.
