Trinity Happenings
Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. 3rd St., Lehighton, begins at 9:30 a.m. Included in this time is Service of Healing and Blessing of Prayer Shawls.
Masks are no longer required, however, if you are not fully vaccinated, you are encouraged to wear a mask covering the nose and mouth for your own protection and safety. In addition, wear a mask if you feel uneasy about being in a group.
Coffeehouse fellowship follows the worship service in Luther Hall. The Rev. Nancy L. Moore presides.
The Service of Healing with prayers are said for those to help ease one’s emotional, physical and spiritual burdens to assist and cope with daily living. Prayer shawls are handmade by volunteers, and are to be used in times of joy or sorrow and ordinary times as a form of comfort during daily faith practices. The prayer shawls are available at no cost and may serve as a gift to a loved one.

In the event of inclement weather leading to cancellations, please check announcements on WFMZ-TV (Channel 69), or Trinity’s Facebook page. Within 2 hours of worship time, a message will be recorded on the office phone number.
Sunday Church School classes for students ages 3 through grade 6 begin at 10:45 a.m. Confirmation class for 7th and 8th grade students is at the same time.
For those desiring to schedule a baptism or desiring to seek membership at Trinity, please pre-register by calling the church office to set up an appointment with Pastor Moore.
The Food Pantry continues to be open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (and third Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents in need who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.
The Trinity Thrift Store hours are Wednesdays 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours on Wednesdays, limited to five bags or boxes. RSVP deadline is Jan. 26 for Trinity’s 150th anniversary family style covered dish dinner with entertainment by “The Amazing Magi” on Feb. 4, 1-4 p.m. Please bring a food item to share as you are able. The meal time is at 1 p.m. The magician, Pastor Mike, begins his presentation at 2:30. Snow date is Feb. 5.
Looking ahead to observe Trinity’s 150th Anniversary: Youth-featured worship March 26 at 9:30 a.m., concert April 16 at 11:15 a.m., anniversary festival worship June 4 at 3 p.m. followed by a catered meal. The next planning meeting is Feb. 19 at 12:15 p.m.
150th Anniversary booklets are available in the narthex or the church office for pick up.
