It was a full house Saturday at the Palmerton Rod & Gun Club for the Hoffman Family Benefit.
The event was held by Palmerton Scouting Troop 209 to raise funds for the family of Mathias Hoffman.
Hoffman, the Cubmaster of Pack 209, died at age 40 unexpectedly on Nov. 28.
“Mathias Hoffman was our Cubmaster of the entire Cub Pack,” said Tiger Leader Katie Eckhart. “The Cub Scouts bridge over into the Boy Scouts, and he kept in contact with the troop. He did a lot of connecting to get us various fundraisers, and outreach into the communities to get the kids out and doing different things. He did a lot.”
The fundraiser featured bingo, a basket auction, a 50/50 drawing, plus refreshments in the kitchen. Members of Pack 209 helped serve the food.
The funds will benefit Mathias’ family, his wife Kristie, and sons Gavin and Austin.
Anyone who would like to donate to the family, contact Katie Eckhart at 484-695-8827.
