State police at Schuylkill Haven

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following arrests made by troopers in Schuylkill County.

• On Monday at 3 p.m. Carlos Vargas-Zavala, 36, of Lancaster, and Ronnie Sager, 22, of Tower City, entered into a heated argument at 714 E. Grand Ave., in Tower City. During the argument Zavala threw a cup filled with yogurt at Sager’s head. The yogurt struck Sager in the head. Sager then threatened Zavala physically. A witness was present for the incident. No physical altercation occurred.

Both were charged with harassment - physical contact.

• On Dec. 30 at 9 a.m. troopers responded to a report of a crash along South Route 183, in Wayne Township. The driver, William Lurwick 36, of Schuylkill Haven, was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody and charged.

• On Jan. 5 at 1:35 a.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2008 Honda at West Market and North 22nd streets, in Pottsville. The driver, Kendra Muldowney, 28, of Pottsville, was arrested for driving under the influence.

• On Jan. 14 at 9:51 a.m. troopers responded to a area along Lake Street in North Manheim Township for a report of criminal mischief. Austin Wicker, 21, and Emily Holland, 21, both of Pottsville, were cited. A skateboard valued at $30 was damaged.

• On Jan. 7 at 10:54 p.m. troopers were dispatched to a crash along Sunbury Road in Foster Township. The driver, Luke Ferhat, 52, of Ashland, was arrested for DUI.

• On Jan. 8 at 11:05 p.m. a 2009 Hyundai was stopped along Front Street in Cressona. The driver, Chad Perkins, 45, of Minersville, was subsequently arrested for DUI.
