State police at Frackville - crashes
State police at Frackville reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers in Schuylkill County:
• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 8:17 a.m. on Dec. 6 along Wildcat Road in Walker Township. Troopers said Kristen M. Nunemacher, 20, of Tamaqua, was driving a 2006 Jeep Liberty southbound negotiating a right had curve when the vehicle hit a patch of ice, causing it to leave the road and struck a ditch.
Nunemacher and her passenger, Kallia C. Wall, 18, of Tamaqua, were not injured. The vehicle had to be towed.
• A hit-and-run crash was reported at 8:33 a.m. on Dec. 17 along Route 895 (Summer Valley Road), in East Brunswick Township. Troopers said Jacqueline D. Mattiuz, 64, of New Ringgold, was driving a 2022 Ford Bronco westbound while another vehicle was being driven eastbound. As the other vehicle continued eastbound a large piece of ice fell from the roof of it and struck the front driver side windshield of the Bronco. After the incident the other driver continued eastbound. Mattiuz was not injured.
• A crash was reported on Dec. 15 at 7:40 a.m. along Interstate 81 in Butler Township. Sard Moronta De Rosario, 26, of Mahanoy City, was driving a 2007 Honda CRV southbound at a unsafe speed. The vehicle left the road and struck an embankment.
Moronta De Rosario sustained suspected minor injuries and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital East, Pottsville. She was cited for the crash.
• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 15 along Valley Road in Walker Township. Troopers said Jose M. Ortiz Torres, 29, of West Hazleton, was driving a 2005 Ford Escape when he failed to negotiate a left curve due to the speed of his vehicle and slush on the road.
Ortiz Torres was not injured. He was cited for the crash.
• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 1:23 p.m. on Dec. 15 along Route 209 in Blythe Township. Troopers said Jin H. Choi, 22, of Tamaqua, was driving a 1997 Jeep Wrangler northbound and negotiating a right turn wile Richard D. Carl, 53, of Saint Clair, driving a 2021 Jeep Renegade, was southbound negotiating a left turn. Troopers said Choi crossed over the double yellow line into the path of Carl and a head-on collision occurred.
No injuries were reported. Choi was cited for the crash.
A two-vehicle crash was reported at 8:08 p.m. on Dec. 1 along at the intersection of Route 309 and Lincoln Drive, in Rush Township. Troopers said Suzanne Zeller, 68, of Hazleton, was stopped at a stop sign on Lincoln Drive preparing to go north on 309 while Rahmat Hidayat, 46, of Coaldale, was southbound on 309.
Zeller, pulled out without proper clearance and her 2021 Subaru Forester was struck by Hidayat’s 2006 Honda Civic. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were towed. Zeller was cited for the crash.
