Liquor code violations
Several businesses have been cited for liquor code violations by the state police enforcement office in Wilkes-Barre:
• The Batters Box Sports Bar & Grille Inc., Summit Hill, was cited for during the period of Oct. 2 through Nov. 29, 2022, failed to adhere to the conditions of the agreement entered into with the board placing additional restrictions upon the subject license.
• Emerald Lakes Association Inc., Long Pond, on Oct. 1, 2, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22 and Nov. 4, sold alcoholic beverages without authority in that their license expired and/or was held in safe keeping or their temporary operating authority expired.
• Chili’s Grill & Bar, Bartonsville, during the period Oct. 24 through Nov. 27, 2022, failed to have their board approved manager complete RAMP owner/manager training within 180 days of the board’s approval of the appointment.
• Mignosi Foodtown, East Stroudsburg, on Nov. 3, 2022, furnished alcoholic beverages to a minor, 20.
Schuylkill County
Schuylkill County businesses have been cited for liquor code violations by the state police enforcement office in Allentown.
• Elks Home of Tamaqua, trading as Elks Home of Tamaqua Inc., 201 W. Broad St., Tamaqua, was cited for during the period of Sept. 4, 2021, through Sept. 4, 2022, failed to adhere to constitution and/or bylaws. And on March 18 and May 12, 2022, sold alcoholic beverages to nonmembers.
300 Broad Street Inc., trading as Hang Loose, 300 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, sold, furnished and/or gave alcoholic beverages between 2 and 7 a.m.
• Patricia A. Gallagher, trading as Orwigsburg Beer Store, 298 Lincoln Ave., Orwigsburg; Hernandez Cantina LLC, trading as Hernandez Cantina LLC, also known as The Cantina Bar and Grill, Adamsdale Rd., Schuylkill Haven and The Beer Shak LLC, trading as The Beer Shak, 762 S. Route 183, Schuylkill Haven, all three on Nov. 9, 2022, furnished alcoholic beverages to one minor, 19.
• CrissJohn LLC, trading as The Carriage House, 1142 Ridge Road, Klingerstown, during the period of Oct. 25 through Dec. 1, 2022, failed to have the board-approved manager complete RAMP owner/manager training within 180 days of the board’s approval of the appointment.
These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
