Rescue crews responded overnight Saturday into Sunday to a car that went into the canal in Weissport.
Lehihgton Borough Fire Chief Pat Mriss said the department’s rescue team was dispatched around 3 a.m. Sunday.
“We were dispatched to assist state police to remove a vehicle from the canal,” Mriss said. “The water rescue team went in and hooked cables to the car so the tow company (All-Points Towing) could remove it.”
Mriss said they were on scene for about 90 minutes.
He said Lehighton fire police assisted.
