Memorial Mass
A Memorial Mass for Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church tonight at 7 p.m. Attendees will pray for his soul.
Post meeting
American Legion Post 927 will host a members’ monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Post home in Gilbert.
Adoration held
From Our Lady Queen of Peace Church comes the invitation that parishioners are needed to participate in the 24-hour Adoration on Jan. 6 and Jan. 7.

Also beginning is the church’s Alpha program on Jan. 10.

Museum open
The Ross Township Historical Society will open its museum to the public from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday. There is no charge for admission and all are welcome to view photographs, artifacts and items specific to Ross Township.

Legion Riders
The monthly meeting of American Legion Riders Post 927 will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the Legion Post Home in Gilbert.
PVYA Lacrosse
The Pleasant Valley Youth Association has announced its spring lacrosse registration for girls grades 1 to 8. The registration deadline is Jan. 31. For details go to the school’s Web page.
MoW needs
Monroe County’s Meals on Wheels program needs volunteers to help deliver meals to homebound seniors and adults with disabilities.
One can sign up for once a month, once a week, or whatever works for the volunteer.
Delivery routes can take as little as an hour.

Three Kings event
On Saturday the Three Kings celebration will take place at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church from 2 to 4 p.m. in McCawley Hall.
There will be music, stories and refreshments for all and presents and toys for the children 12 and under.
Anyone who would like to donate a gift or toy for the event may bring said item(s) to the parish office.
NFL Sunday
The West End Home Association will again hold NFL Sunday, beginning at 1 p.m.
Senior meals
The Chestnuthill Senior Center, operational at Zion Lutheran in Brodheadsville, Wednesday and Fridays, is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. those days.
Meal reservations are due by 11 a.m. one day ahead. Call Donna Riedel, site manager, at 570-242-6770 to make said reservation.
The menu for Friday is lemon garlic fish for the hot meal and egg salad. Next Wednesday’s is chicken cacciatore/ pork sandwich.
If the school district is closed, so is the Senior Center.

The Senior centers have needs to for program materials. Among them are: leftover crafting materials, felt or cotton materials, clothes pins and golf tees; small gardening pots, soil and seeds; clean yarn, ribbons, beads, elastic and buttons; as well as glue guns and glue sticks.

Block shoot
Kunkletown Rod & Gun Club is holding its next block shoot and meat raffle on Sunday. It begins at 11 a.m. and is a 12-gauge event only. The public is welcome at the event at 122 Gun Club Lane in Saylorsburg.

The next Community Sunday Supper at Our Lady Queen of Peace church will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday.
The next West End Missions dinner will be held at 4:30 p.m., Jan. 12.
Date change
Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Kresgeville, has announced a date change for two of its happenings.
The Family and Youth Event will be Jan. 15, at 11:15 a.m., not on Jan. 22.
And Confirmation Class will be on Jan. 22, at 11:15 a.m., not on Jan. 8.
PV pre-registration
Families which have children turning 5 by Sept. 1 this year, can pre-register their child/children by calling Vickie in Central Registration at 570-402-1000, ext. 8010.
If pre-registered, said families will be invited to Ready, Set, Learn! a pre-kindergarten program.
