A Luzerne County man is being sought on a homicide charge for allegedly shooting to death his girlfriend.

State police at Hazleton said on Tuesday at 6:46 p.m. troopers responded to 1290 Woodhaven Drive, Foster Township, for a report of a female gunshot victim.

Police said an investigation revealed that Jessica Romano, 35, was shot by her boyfriend, Scott Andrew Oliver, 30, inside their residence on Woodhaven Drive. Oliver fled the scene into a wooded area after the shooting.

Romano was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hazleton, where she died of her injuries.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Oliver, troopers said. Oliver should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who may have information relative to his whereabouts is asked to call troopers at 570-459-3890.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by police officers from White Haven, Hazleton, Freeland Butler Township, Wright Township and EMS unit from Freeland.
