Trinity Happenings
First Saturday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. 3rd St., Lehighton, begins at 5 p.m.
Sunday worship with Holy Communion begins at 9:30 a.m. Communion is served by continuous line with wafer placed in your open hand, and wine or grape juice in a small cup. Gluten free wafers are available to those with allergy issues. Included during this time is the Procession of the “Three Kings.”
Masks are no longer required, however, if you are not fully vaccinated, you are encouraged to wear a mask covering the nose and mouth for your own protection and safety. In addition, wear a mask if you feel uneasy about being in a group setting.
The Rev. Nancy L. Moore presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows in Luther Hall.

Sunday Church School classes for students ages 3 through grade 6 and confirmation class resume at 10:45 a.m. Classes do not meet Jan. 15 due to the annual congregational meeting at this time.
For those desiring to schedule a baptism, please preregister by calling the church office in advance of the 1 p.m., Jan. 15 information session with Pastor Moore. For those desiring to seek membership at Trinity, please call the church office to set up an appointment with Pastor Moore.
The Food Pantry continues to be open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (and third Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents in need who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.
The Trinity Thrift Store hours are Wednesdays 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours on Wednesdays, limited to five bags or boxes. Looking ahead as events continue in 2023 to observe Trinity’s 150th anniversary: family style covered dish dinner w/ entertainment by “The Amazing Magi” Feb. 4 afternoon, youth-featured worship March 26 at 9:30 a.m., Concert April 16 at 11:15 a.m., anniversary festival worship June 4 at 3 p.m., followed by a catered meal. The next planning meeting is Jan. 15 at 12:15 p.m. following the annual congregational meeting for anyone desiring to participate. 150th Anniversary booklets are available in the narthex or the church office for pick up.
St. John’s Evangelical
St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mahoning, 826 Mahoning Dr. W. Lehighton will hold worship service at 10:45 a.m. on Jan. 8.
The council meeting will be held on Jan. 9 at 6:30 p.m.
Morning Prayer with Pastor Tony is held on Jan. 11 at 9 a.m.
Bible Study is held on Jan. 12, 9:30 a.m. with Pastor Tony
