David William Addy of Lehighton was sworn in today as Carbon County’s 17th judge.

Addy, who was elected to succeed Senior Judge Richard W. Webb, was among several county officials who were given their oaths of office during ceremonies held in the historic courtroom No. 1 in the courthouse in Jim Thorpe.

Addy, a longtime member of the county’s district attorney’s office, was introduced by District Attorney Gary F. Dobias and was sworn in by his one-time boss in the DA’s office, Webb.

Also present were Senior Judge John P. Lavelle, who Addy once served as a law clerk, and President Judge Roger N. Nanovic, who administered the oath to other officers.
