Turnpike crashes

No one was injured in seven different crashes this month on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

State police at the Pocono barracks investigated six of the incidents while state police at Fern Ridge were called to the seventh incident.

• The initial one happened at 4:28 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Route 940 off-ramp of the turnpike in Kidder Township and was handled by troopers from Fern Ridge. Police said a 2022 BMW entered the lane of travel of a tractor trailer in the middle lane, striking it and causing minor damages to both vehicles.

• Cole A. Wenner, 22, of Lehighton, was involved in a one-vehicle crash at 11:52 a.m. Dec. 11 on the northeast extension in Penn Forest Township.

Police said he was driving a 1995 Ford Explorer north when it veered onto the eastern shoulder and impacted an embankment.

Police said the Explorer sustained front and rear driver’s-side wheel damages.

• Police were summoned at 12:10 p.m. Dec. 15 to mile marker 92.7 in Kidder Township, where a 2022 Tesla Model Y operated by Christopher N. Lachmann, 41, of Pottstown, went out of control in slippery road conditions and struck the center concrete barriers, coming to rest on the right shoulder.

• Keenan M. Beveridge, 21, of Warminster, was involved in a crash at 10:17 a.m. Dec. 15 at mile marker 75.3 in Parryville. Police said he was driving a 2007 Honda Civic northbound when it struck the concrete divider and came to rest on the western shoulder of the road.

• Police said slippery conditions existed at 12:39 p.m. Dec. 15 when Donald H. McAnulty II, 40, of Fairless Hills, was driving a 2015 Nissan Altima in the area of mile marker 93.2 in Kidder Township. Police said the vehicle spun, continued off the right shoulder of the road and impacted an embankment.

• A sixth incident happened when ice and snow flew off the roof of a vehicle and struck the windshield of a 2021 Honda CRV operated by Lisbeth M. Marte Bueno, 23, of Scranton. Police said it happened at 11:27 a.m. Dec. 17 at mile marker 67.4 in Franklin Township.

• The final crash happened at 4 a.m. Dec. 18 at mile marker 80.3 in Penn Forest Township. Police said Mariah N. Boone, 28, of Philadelphia, was driving a 2015 Hyundai Elantra southbound when it traveled across the left lane and struck a concrete barrier. The car sustained heavy damages, police said.
