Fern Ridge crashes

State police at Fern Ridge release information on the following crashes:

• Conrad Wojy Jr., 66, of Brodheadsville, suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 3:35 p.m. Dec. 4 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg, by the West End Ambulance.

Police said he was westbound in a 2004 Ford F-150 that left the roadway and crashed, causing disabling damages.

Police said he was cited for “use of a certificate on inspection.”

• Jonathan A. Hill, 36, of Jim Thorpe, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 3:22 p.m. Nov. 30.

Police said he was northbound on Route 534 in Penn Forest Township in a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox when it hydroplaned, traveled off the berm of the shoulder of the road and struck a tree.

The vehicle sustained disabling damages, police said.

• Jeffrey Hallenbeck, 49, of Kunkletown, was cited for following too closely after a crash at 7:14 a.m. Dec. 2 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was driving a 2018 Ford Focus that “read-ended” a 2018 Ford Fusion operated by Jonathan W. Jacobson, 18, of Effort.

Neither driver was hurt, police said.

• Monica E. Young, 43, of Saylorsburg, was cited after a crash at 9:39 a.m. Dec. 11 at the intersection of Kinsley Drive and Weir Lake Road in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said she was driving a 2015 Nissan Rogue that made a left turn from Weir Lake Road onto Kinsley Drive when she failed to yield to oncoming traffic and the Rogue struck a 2020 Dodge Ram 2500 driven by Ransom Marshall IV, 28, of Hazle Township.

No one was injured and both vehicles were disabled and needed to be towed from the scene.

• Tegan V. Shiver, 30, of East Stroudsburg, escaped injuries when a car he was driving struck a bear on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township.

Police said he was traveling east in a 2023 Kia Sorento when the bear entered its path and he was unable to stop in time.

The car sustained disabling damages, police said.

• Andrea Petrosino, 31, of Albrightsville, was not injured in a one-vehicle crash at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 11 on Route 534 in Penn Forest Township.

Police said she was driving a 2009 GMC Envoy westbound in inclement weather when the car left the snow-covered road and hit a utility pole. The vehicle sustained disabling damages and was towed from the scene.
