A 62-year-old Palmerton woman is the victim of a theft by deception/identity theft incident reported at 5 p.m. Dec. 13.

State Police at Lehighton said the woman, from Rueben Circle, Towamensing Township, told police her identity had been stolen and approximately $31,000 was withdrawn from her accounts at Citizens Bank.

In another incident, state police at the Bethlehem barracks are investigating a theft by deception/impersonation.

A 66-year-old woman from Germansville reported at 10:31 a.m. Dec. 1 that someone is claiming unemployment benefits in her name.
