Paul A. Shealer, 28, of Coopersburg, has been appointed to the position of agricultural agent in Carbon County.
He will assume the duties previously held by Ray W. Reitz of Jim Thorpe before his retirement after 36 years with the Pennsylvania State University Cooperative Extension Service.
Shealer, of Trenton, N.J., has been teaching an agricultural program for the past 5 and a half years at the Bucks Area Vocational-Technical School, Perkasie.
A native of Auburn in Schuylkill County, he is a graduate of Blue Mountain High School and graduated in 1977 from Penn State University.
