JT looking to help with staff training

Jim Thorpe Area Schol District is looking to join other districts in the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit #21 in using a Tampa-based company to help provide its staff with state mandated training.

Vector Solutions, according to its website, helps districts comply with important state and federal training mandates including Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements, Title IX, mandatory reporting, youth suicide prevention, bullying, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act protections and more.

“For a majority of our trainings, we are looking to move to Vector Solutions from Navigate 360, which we use now,” Jim Thorpe Superintendent Robert Presley said. “With a consortium discount we believe this will be cheaper and offer us more options for state mandated trainings as well as possible trainings in the area of special education and instruction.”

While Jim Thorpe is still in the investigatory phase of making the change, Lehighton Area School District switched to Vector Solutions earlier this year.

In March, Lehighton approved an agreement with Vector Solutions to provide an online training platform for employee safety and compliance for July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023, in the amount of $2,354.50.

“This is a new online platform to complete state mandated employment training,” Lehighton Business Manager Edward Rarick said at the time. “The district had been utilizing a platform available through the CLIU however, that option will be dissolved by the end of the school year.

“The IU had worked on a consortium discount pricing option with Vector Solutions.”
