Mount Airy announces new age requirement

Mount Airy Casino Resort announced Tuesday that all guests on the property must be 21 years old or older. The new policy takes effect Dec. 18.

“This decision, made after careful consideration and based on feedback from our patrons, caters to the increasing demand we are seeing for exceptional amenities and outstanding personal service,” said Lisa DeNaples, Mount Airy owner and managing trustee. “By offering an adults-only environment, we intend to serve as the premier escape for those seeking an elevated lifestyle that includes high-end experiences and luxury accommodations.”

Mount Airy is in Paradise Township.

Hassan Abdel-Moneim, vice president of Resort Operations at Mount Airy, said the decision was made in order to offer a new level of luxury for guests.

“We expect this new identity will be very popular with couples seeking romance and tranquillity, singles looking to join the party, and any group or individual seeking the resort experience offered by Mount Airy Casino Resort,” Abdel-Moneim said.

Chris Barrett, president and CEO of the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau, said the decision makes perfect sense based on Mount Airy’s brand and the resort’s history of providing an adult-only experience.

“There are many kid-friendly properties located throughout the Poconos and we’re more than happy to assist families in finding those wonderful opportunities for their upcoming visit,” Barrett said.
