Car strikes concrete barrier on Turnpike

No one was injured when a vehicle sustained a tie rod problem, went out of control and struck a concrete barrier on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

It happened at 8:48 p.m. Dec. 8 at milemarker 69.9 in Washington Township.

State police at the Pocono barracks said Blaise E. Rolison, 62, of Waymart, was northbound when his steering mechanism was affected by the tie rod problem.

After striking the barrier, the 2008 Chevrolet Impala came to rest in the right lane of travel.
