St. Mary’s McAdoo hosts traveling cross

St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 210 W. Blaine St., McAdoo, is hosting a traveling cross of gratitude from Ukraine.

The mission started in 2003, and the cross has been blessed by St. John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Pope Francis.

According to the church, the goal of the mission is “to venerate the cross, the symbol of salvation and victory for us, and to proclaim the good news to all the capitals of the world and be grateful for the blessings received. Many healings took place to those who came to pray with faith and contrition of their hearts.”

Priests will be hearing confessions today at 6 p.m.

The cross will be at St. Mary’s for a few weeks. The church will be open for prayers and veneration each day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Daily Divine Liturgy is at 9 a.m. this week. On Friday, there will be a 6 p.m. Liturgy and Moleben; and Divine Liturgy at 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday.
