Trinity Happenings
Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 South 3rd St., Lehighton, begins 9:30 a.m. Masks are optional. The Sunday School Christmas program takes place during this time. Lay minister Kathy Long presides. She will offer a children’s sermon. Coffeehouse fellowship follows in the narthex.

Weekly Sunday Church School for students ages 3 though grade 6 begins at 10:45 a.m. Confirmation class for 7th and 8th grade students is at the same time.
For those desiring to schedule a baptism, please pre-register by calling the church office in advance of the Dec. 18 information session at 1 p.m. with Pastor Moore. For those desiring to seek membership at Trinity, please call the church office to set up an appointment with Pastor Moore.
The Trinity Thrift Store is open without reservations. Shopping hours are Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours on Wednesdays, limited to five bags or boxes. The Food Pantry continues to be open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (and third Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents in need who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.
Events continue in 2023 to observe Trinity’s 150th anniversary: family style covered dish dinner w/ entertainment by “The Amazing Magi” Feb. 4, youth-featured worship March 26, Concert April 16, anniversary festival worship June 4 followed by a catered meal. The next planning meeting is Dec. 18 at 12:15 p.m.
Decorating two Christmas trees in the Sanctuary is Friday at 7 p.m. Volunteers are welcome to help.
Christmas Eve services: 6 p.m. Family worship with Holy Communion and children’s sermon; 9 p.m. Candlelight worship with Holy Communion. Christmas Day 9:30 a.m. worship with Holy Communion and Hymn Sing.
Jack and Jill Preschool
Jack & Jill Preschool, 230 Iron St., Lehighton, a ministry of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, is still accepting registrations for the 3- and 4-year-old classes for the 2022-2023 school year. The preschool offers learning through play and socialization in a caring, nurturing environment with an excellent student-teacher ratio.
