The American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert has cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner for veterans and community members young and old, for many years.
No one knows exactly how many years, but most say it’s been more years than they can remember.
The amazing thing about this year’s dinner, according to Chaplain Eileen McGuire is that the Post 927 has received more donations than ever.
“We would like to thank Shop Rite, Weis, Giant and Sam’ s Club, the Lama Latin American Motorcycle Veterans for their for their donations as well as all our member and community for the many donations of hams turkeys, pies, and even canned food,” said. “Without the donations we would never be able to hold this event for our community.”
McGuire ended with a heartfelt wish for everyone and a healthy joyous and safe Thanksgiving.
