Tommy Schafer & The Blue Mountain Ramblers, a Jim Thorpe-based band, performed on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry Friday night, playing before a capacity crowd after which time band members received the red carpet treatment.

The Ramblers sang a medley of songs, including one written by Tommy Schafer Jr.

Tommy Schafer, his wife, Bonnie, were joined on stage by their children, Tommy Jr., Sherry and Billy O, and were accompanied by Jim McManus, Paul Odenwelder, Mike Melusky and Chris Michels.

Every time a new family member stepped to the microphone and began singing, the audience responded with robust applause.
