November 14, 1953 - Don “The Ram” Macenka scores a pair of touchdowns, including the game-winner, to help Nesquehoning post an 18-13 upset victory over heavily-favored Lansford. Trailing by a point in the fourth quarter, an interception by Mike Matalone gives the Nesquers great field position at the Panther 10-yard line. Macenka runs the ball three straight times, the final one from four yards out, to put his team ahead. Earlier in the contest, Macenka collects an 84-yard TD run, while Tommy Kanouse reaches the end zone on a 62-yard burst.
