Three people were seriously injured Friday evening in a crash in Rush Township.
The crash occurred in the intersection of Route 309 and Ben Titus Road involving a sport utility vehicle and a pickup. The two vehicles after impact came to rest in the parking lot of Skipper Dippers.
Firefighters from Hometown and McAdoo extinguished a fire that erupted in the SUV while working to extricate the victims from the wreckage. Three medic units treated the victims at the scene before transporting them to area trauma centers. Hometown fire police maintained traffic control at the scene. State police at Frackville are investigating the incident.
