November 9, 2002 - Northwestern takes the opening kickoff and drives 70 yards in 16 plays, taking nearly eight minutes off the clock, to score a touchdown en route to a 21-0 victory over Pen Argyl in the semifinal round of the District 11 Class 2A playoffs. Quarterback Roland Kern completes four passes during the march and scores on a 1-yard run to set the tone. The Tigers, coached by Bob Mitchell, extend the lead early in the second half when Austin Bleam intercepts a pass and returns it 52 yards. Kern adds another 1-yard TD in the final frame to seal the win. Northwestern’s Pete McCauley finishes the contest with 154 yards rushing on 20 carries.
