No tax hike in Ross Twp. budget

During their monthly meeting Monday, Ross Township supervisors announced the proposed 2023 budget.

The details of the proposed $837,328.14 budget will be available for public inspection.

Supervisors voted 3-0 to advertise the proposed budget.

Once again, there will be no municipal tax for township residents in 2023. There has been no tax increase since 2019, said Chairman James Zahoroiko.

In other business:

• Supervisors voted 3-0 to appoint David Bray as the Uniform Construction Code Joint Board of Appeals member. Bray has extensive engineering experience and is on the zoning board, according to the supervisors.

• Supervisors signed Ordinance 93, which is the intergovernmental cooperation agreement to dissolve the West End Park and Open Space Commission. Chestnuthill Township and Pleasant Valley School District have also signed documentation to dissolve the organization.

• The annual tree lighting and visit with Santa is Saturday, Dec. 3. Santa will arrive on a Blue Ridge Hook and Ladder firetruck at 4 p.m. After the tree lighting, Santa will visit with guests inside the municipal building. He will hand out small gifts and candy canes. Hot cocoa will be served.

• Beginning Jan. 7, the Ross Township Historical Society Museum will be open 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month.
