Walnutport tree lighting ceremony is Dec. 3

Walnutport’s sixth annual Christmas tree Lighting Ceremony is Dec. 3.

The borough’s Recreation Board invites interested residents and business owners to participate in the ceremony at 215 S. Lincoln Ave.

The board is looking for individuals or businesses who are interested in adopting a tree.

For a minimum donation of $40, the Recreation Board will provide and set up a tree (including the tree stand). The donor can then decorate it.

The trees are offered on a first-come first-served basis.

Starting at 2 p.m., there will be food trucks, including Mr. Doggy Style, Caribbean Islands Cuisine, and The Rolling Barista.

In addition, Balloons by Robin will be set up and hand out her creations.

Local firefighters will sponsor a candy cane hunt at 3 p.m.

The tree lighting ceremony will be around 5 p.m.

Money raised from the event will benefit the Recreation Board, and be used to fund future projects.

All donations may be made payable to the Borough of Walnutport Recreation Board.

Trees may start to be undecorated by Jan. 8 (the day after Orthodox Christmas). All trees and tree stands will be disposed of on Jan. 16. Any decorations/lights remaining on trees after Jan. 15 will be disposed of as well.

Anyone with questions may contact Jennifer Wentz at 484-273-2278, or Annette in the borough office at 610-767-1322 ext. 101.
