No one was injured after a vehicle crashed in Lehigh Township Wednesday evening following a police pursuit that began in Palmerton.

Palmerton police Detective Kevin Buck said the incident occurred around 9 p.m. as police attempted to stop a vehicle for a code violation.

Buck said the motorist, Zayne Laubach, 28, of Nazareth, proceeded to travel along Delaware Avenue onto Route 248 “at very high speeds, resulting in him crashing in Lehigh Township.”

He said the crash is being handled by Lehigh Township Police.

“The Palmerton police car was not involved in the crash,” Buck said.

“They did apprehend the suspect; he was taken into custody and he was lodged in Carbon County Prison.”

He is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Nov. 30 before District Judge William J. Kissner of Palmerton.

Buck said also assisting at the scene were Lehigh Township Police and the Lehigh Township Fire Department.
