State police at Fern Ridge - crashes

State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers:

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 4:08 p.m. on Oct. 24 at the intersection of Route 209 and Weir Lake Road in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said William R. Lehr Jr., 56, of Lehighton, driving a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze, was eastbound while Tyler J. Bobb Duberry, 20, of Saylorsburg, driving a 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer, was westbound. Lehr was turning onto Weir Lake Road at a steady yellow light while Duberry continued through the intersection with a steady green light. His vehicle struck Lehr’s vehicle.

No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were towed. Duberry was cited for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.

• A one-vehicle crash occurred at 9:46 a.m. on Oct. 24 along Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Nicholas M. Kirchner, 29, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor when it left the road and struck multiple mailboxes, a tree, then a wooden fence. The vehicle sustained heavy damages and was towed. Kirchner was not injured. He was cited for the crash.

At the scene troopers also learned he had multiple warrants for his arrest and was taken into custody. While being taken into custody he was found with drug paraphernalia and narcotics. Charges filed.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 7:29 p.m. on Oct. 25 along Route 534 in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Thomas R. Garner, 46, of Hamburg, Berks County, was driving a 2016 Honda Fit eastbound when his vehicle struck a deer that had entered the road in front of him. Garner was not injured. Damages were minor to the vehicle.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 4:18 p.m. on Oct. 28 along Weir Lake Road in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Kelly M. House, 34, of Effort, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, turned left in front of a 2020 Toyota Rav4 driven by Jasmine Deppner, 22, of Effort. West End ambulance personnel responded but no one was transported, troopers said. House was cited for the crash.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 10:41 p.m. on Oct. 27 along Gilbert Road in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Eric R. Scott, 42, of Brodheadsville, was driving a 2015 Jeep Wrangler too fast on a right hand curve in the road. His vehicle hit the guide rail, then rolled over onto the driver’s side. Scott was not injured. The Jeep was towed.

Scott was cited for the crash.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 8:56 a.m. on Oct. 22 along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Troopers said William C. McDermon Jr., 37, of Malvern, Chester County, was driving a 2021 Subaru Ascent southbound when a deer entered the road in front of him. This vehicle struck the deer.

McDermon and his four passengers were all not injured. The vehicle was towed
