Man charged with pulling knife during argument in Summit Hill

A Summit Hill man has been charged with pulling a knife during an argument early Sunday morning.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by officer Kodie Pituch of the Summit Hill Borough Police Department in the case against Daniel Yurchak:

At 2:56 a.m. Pituch received a radio dispatch to the St. Gabriel’s Italian Club at 121 N. Market St. for a report of a disturbance involving a knife and a firearm.

Pituch arrived on scene and made contact with the victim, who said that he and Yurchak, 37, got into an argument inside the bar due to a previous incident.

The victim said a fight ensued and Yurchak was taken to the floor by another patron who observed him with a “silver” pocket knife in his right hand.

Witnesses on scene reported that Yurchak could be heard yelling “Wanna do this in here or outside?” and observed him holding a knife in his right hand.

Yurchak was taken into custody and admitted to having the pocket knife in his hand and opened due to another patron having a gun inside the bar.

Yurchak faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.

He is currently free in lieu of $20,000 unsecured bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Nov. 9 before District Judge Eric M. Schrantz of Jim Thorpe.
