State police at Frackville report on crashes
State police at Frackville release details on the following crashes:
• The driver and passenger of a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee that struck a deer on Barnesville Drive in Ryan Township escaped injuries.
Police said Margaret M. Soult, 73, of Barnesville, was operating the Jeep westbound at 5:34 p.m. Oct. 19 when the deer entered the roadway and it struck it.
• Police said damages were minor in a crash at 8:25 a.m. Oct. 17 on Route 443 in New Ringgold.
Police said Michael E. Dent, 59, of Fayetteville, was traveling north in a 2013 International Harvester with a plow affixed to its front when it entered the southbound lane and the struck a rim of a 2019 Kenworth tractor trailer driven by Barry Kehl, 53, of Bethel.
No injuries were reported as a result of the crash, police said.
• Claire M. Vilcheck, 83, of Coaldale, suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 11:26 a.m. Oct. 13 at the intersection of West Water (Route 209) and West Miner streets.
She said she was transported by the Tamaqua Community Ambulance Association personnel to the St. Luke’s Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale.
Police said she was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Impala that entered the intersection attempting to turn north onto Route 209 when it collided with a 2022 Ford ZX2 operated by Charles B. Dahm Jr., 47, of Tamaqua. He was uninjured.
Police were assisted at the scene by the Coaldale and Lansford fire departments and Hope’s Towing.
Police said Vilcheck was cited for the crash.
• No one was hurt in a two-vehicle crash at 8:40 a.m. Oct. 8 on Interstate 81 in Kline Township.
Police said a 2015 Toyota Rav4 operated by Amanollah Mesbah, 31, of Syracuse, New York, traveling south, attempted to change lanes without proper clearance and struck the passenger-side front fender of a 2016 Toyota 4-Runner driven by Carina Garcia, 39, of Loch Sheldrake, New York,
Mesbah was cited for the crash.
