October 26, 1996 - Jim Thorpe uses a blocked punt, a big pass play and an interception to help the Olympians pull away from Nativity for a 29-12 victory. Leading by a touchdown midway through the second quarter, George Sisca blocks a punt and Mark Remmel returns it 45 yards for a touchdown to extend the Thorpe lead. After Nativity responds with a score, a 50-yard pass from Keith Zebroski to Frank Miller right before the half leads to a Zebroski 33-yard field goal. In the third quarter, Jared Schrantz intercepts a pass on defense and then catches a 10-yard TD pass from Zebroski. The winners, coached by Adam Sieminski, also receive 77 yards rushing and a touchdown from John Acevedo.
