Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 South 3rd St., Lehighton, begins 9:30 a.m. Communion is served by continuous line with wafer placed in your open hand, and wine or grape juice in a small cup. Gluten free wafers are available to those with allergy issues.

Special guests “Martin Luther” and wife “Katharina vonBora Luther” will be present to greet people. Masks are no longer required, however, if you are not fully vaccinated, you are encouraged to wear a mask covering the nose and mouth for your own protection and safety. Coffeehouse fellowship follows the worship service in Luther Hall. The Rev. Nancy L. Moore presides.

First Tuesday Quiet Communion worship is Nov. 1 at 11 a.m.

Weekly Sunday Church School for students ages 3 though grade 6 begins at 10:45 a.m. Confirmation class for 7th and 8th grade students is at the same time.

The Trinity Thrift Store is open without reservations. Shopping and drop-off hours are Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours, limited to five bags or boxes. The Food Pantry continues Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and third Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m. with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents in need who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.

For those desiring to schedule a baptism or seek membership at Trinity, please contact the church office to register in-advance for the November instruction sessions. Baptismal class will be held on the third Sunday at 1 p.m. Overview for prospective New Members is held on the fourth Sunday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Moore.

Nov. 5 and 6 worship theme is “All Saints Remembrance”. You are invited to bring in photos of your loved ones who have died by Nov. 4. The photos will be displayed on a table near the altar as a visible reminder of the saints in our lives who have enriched us with their love, faith, or care.

Looking ahead is Praise Band playing for the final time on Nov. 13 at the 9:30 worship service. It will be the Final Farewell after 19 years of sharing their musical gifts.

A series of events are forming to celebrate Trinity’s 150th anniversary. A joyous worship service to mark the 150th anniversary is Dec. 4 at 3 p.m. NEPA Bishop Christopher deForest will be the preacher. A light supper will follow. Additional plans include commemorative T-shirts, family style covered dish dinner with games in February, youth-featured worship in March, Cantata in April, anniversary festival worship in June.
