At a special meeting this month, Kidder Township supervisors voted unanimously to name Noel Torres to fill the vacant seat on the board of supervisors.
Torres, who serves on the planning commission, is also the township vacancy board chairman, a township code enforcement officer, and volunteers for the Lake Harmony Fire Company and the Lake Harmony Rescue Squad. He is a New York City police force retiree.
A reorganization of supervisors followed, with Torres joining Bruce Berger, Louis Pantages and Wilson Klotzman to elect Ray Gluck as chairman. Gluck has served as supervisor many times, but this is his first time as chairman.
Klotzman was voted in as vice chairman and chair of the police committee, again unanimously.
Torres’ appointment creates a vacancy of the vacancy board chairman. Interested citizens should send a letter to the township.
