State police at Lehighton reported investigating a two-vehicle crash at 5:19 p.m. on Oct. 14 at the intersection of Route 115 and Kunkletown Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County.
Troopers said Kathy W. Goida, 67, of Saylorsburg, driving a 2021 Kia Seltos, was stopped for a stop sign on Kunkletown Road attempting to turn left onto 115. Goida proceeded to turn left and did not see a 2005 Ford Taurus operated by Garth N. James, 35, of Allentown, who was southbound on 115. A collision occurred in the intersection.
After impact the Taurus traveled into the northbound lane and then went down a steep embankment where it came to rest in the backyard of a local residence. Goida and a passenger were taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance. James sustained a suspected minor injury and was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital - Bartonsville. West End Fire Company volunteers assisted at the scene.
Both vehicles were towed.
